The site provides additional features for viewing and interacting with the data and for downloading the data in various formats.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;  

Regional Ecosystems (Cover Codes) in the Brisbane City Council area.

Regional ecosystems (RE's) are vegetation communities in a bioregion that are consistently associated with a particular combination of geology, landform and soil (Sattler and Williams 1999, Vegetation Management Act 1999).

Vegetation Cover- Brisbane supports a range of different vegetation cover. These being Remnant and Non-remnant vegetation. Remnant vegetation is further split into regional ecosystems, whilst non-remnant is split into eight.
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Canal - man-made.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Disturbed - predominantly thinned vegetation that no longer meets criteria for remnant vegetation on the basis of canopy cover.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Exotic - vegetation dominated by exotic species.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Native plantation e.g. Eucalyptus spp., mixed native cabinet timber species.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Plantation - predominantly pine plantation (Pinus spp.) and hoop/bunya pine.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Regrowth - vegetation that has been cleared and has regrown but still does not meet the criteria for remnant vegetation.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Rehabilitation area - actively managed e.g. 2 Million Trees area.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Water - anthropogenic water bodies.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
