                <gco:CharacterString>Sea surface temperature data, in DISIMP images, from NOAA Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data received at the ACRES station in Alice Springs. Data starts from Feb. 1991, and includes day passes only, from various NOAA satellites. SST is calculated using the NLSST (non-linear SST) algorithm, and composited to monthly images. The images cover the Australian continent and surrounding oceans. The data are contained on CDROMs in Hobart.</gco:CharacterString>
