This initiative will use innovative data, research and analysis to assess national potential for a broad range of the resources critical to the net zero transition, supporting a strong resource sector. The initiative includes mapping our potential for critical minerals and strategic materials, hydrogen and carbon storage, and offshore renewable energy. This report presents the results of Rock-Eval pyrolysis for source rock potential assessment previously undertaken by Geoscience Australia (formerly Australian Geological Survey Organisation) on rock samples from the Columbia 1, Lock 1, Lock 80L30C, Mercury 1, and Polda 1 drill holes within the Polda Basin. Analysis and interpretation of these well data are described in Blevin et al.
