This process can be assisted by the development and use of a suitable resource assessment framework for each unit/team to follow. Such a framework should outline what needs to be examined, why it needs to be examined and, most importantly, how it has been examined in the past and how it will be examined in the future. At least four separate (but related) assessment frameworks will be needed to cover the types of issues the Department will need to report against in the coming years.
