The area covered includes parts of the Warumpi and Aileron provinces which occur in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. The interpretation was developed from existing published solid geology datasets, 1:1 000 000 and 1:250 000 maps of surface geology, and new interpretation of magnetic and gravity data. The solid geology map is intended to represent basement lithology, which in most cases consists of units older than the Neoproterozoic.
