Six categories from IUCN Global Ecosystem Typology (IUCN GET). There are two perennial categories:

  • 1.1 - Permanent upland streams

  • 1.2 - Permanent lowland rivers

And four non-perennial categories:

  • 1.3 - Freeze-thaw rivers and streams

  • 1.4 - Seasonal upland streams

  • 1.5 - Seasonal lowland rivers

  • 1.6 - Episodic arid rivers

Land Use Intensity

Field Names

LUI_2010_11, LUI_2015_16, LUI_2020_21

Description

Land Use Intensity (LUI) for the financial year. For example LUI_2010_11 provides the LUI for the 2010–11 financial year. The first five categories are ranked in order of increasing intensity:

  • 1: Conservation and natural environments

  • 2: Production from relatively natural environments

  • 3: Production from dryland agriculture and plantations

  • 4: Production from irrigated agriculture and plantations

  • 5: Intensive uses

  • Category 6 shows areas where water obscures land use.
