ASGS SA3 2021 - GPC 2023

General Practitioner Catchment (GPC): Developed by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, GPCs are custom geographic areas built from ABS ASGS 2021 boundaries (SA1, SA2, SA3, UCL). These catchments provide a more accurate view of where patients access GP services. Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3): SA3s are regional units in the ASGS, created by grouping SA2s with similar characteristics. They provide a standard framework for analysing ABS data at the regional level, including Census outputs. Australia has 359 SA3s, including codes for non-geographically defined populations. SA3s support regional planning and policy development, and aggregate to form SA4s.
