Description
Abstract
The location of Inferred coal resources (resource as defined in the JORC code) within Queensland.

Purpose
This theme depicts the location, as points, of inferred coal resources. These resources have not been investigated sufficiently to define an areal extent and so are depicted as a point for the centre of the known deposit.

Supplementary Information
The data set is sourced from the Department's Geoscience and Resources Database (GRDB), a component of the MERLIN tenure and geoscience system. Infered coal resources are those which have had insufficient drilling to adequately define the extent of the coal to raise the resource classification above infered (as defined in the JORC code). These infered coal resources are therefore represented in the system as a point (centroid) for the know location of the coal.
