                <gco:CharacterString>## **Abstract** 

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from the Namoi water quality dataset. The source dataset is identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.


This is a subset of the Namoi water quality data provided by the NSW Office of Water, clipped to the Namoi subregion.


The NSW Office of Water (NoW) provided water quality data for the Namoi region. The data includes continuously monitored sites and discrete monitored sites. Sites with a GW prefix represent groundwater sites. Groundwater sites can be linked to their locational information through the NSW NGIS (provided by the Bureau of Meteorology).

## **Purpose** 

This data was used to develop the NAM 1.5 product.

## **Dataset History** 

The source data was the groundwater quality information from the NSW Office of Water. Data outside of the Namoi subregion was deleted and the data then clipped to only show results post-1970 for data quality purposes. Only the most recent measurement from each bore was used. The data was categorised according to groundwater salinity (EC) from the ANZECC water quality guidelines.
