Source: Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources using data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (specifically the 2007–08, 2009–10 and 2011–12 Agricultural Resource Management Survey and the 1995–96, 200–01 and 2010–11 Agricultural Census, customised by commodity groupings).
Note, for 2000-01, totals for Australia were not provided and so had to be calculated from state totals. For 2007-08: Totals for Australia were not provided (confidentiality issues) and so had to be calculated from regional (NRM region) totals. For 2007-08, the cultivation question included pastures so will overestimate.
