                <gco:CharacterString>## **Abstract** 

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. This dataset was derived from surface water data provided by the NSW Office of Water.   You can find a link to the parent datasets in the Lineage Field in this metadata statement. The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived.


The data has been modified from v1 according to the following observations/criteria:

\*    The daily data (Streamflow Discharge, Reservoir Levels and Water Quality) have been moved one day forward to fulfil the condition of  9:00am of its previous day to 9:am of the given day.

\*    All the missing data (Streamflow Discharge, Reservoir Levels and Water Quality) replaced with -9999.


The New South Wales Office of Water (NOW) provides to the Bureau of Meteorology a copy of their hydstra surface water database. The last extract was received in July 2013. 

Data was extracted from the Hydstra format to .csv files for surface water sites within the Hunter region. T

This included Average: 

Daily discharge in ML/day from 9am-9am

Temperature

EC

Turbidity

Site details including locational information is contained in the 'Gauges_Clip_HUN_Outside_Streamflow_Gauges_3.xlsx'file. This also includes a list of sites that are not included in the hydstra extract

## **Purpose** 

The Hunter SW data was extracted from hydstra for the purpose of the Bioregional Assessments project.
