The experiment spanned Nov 2018 – Oct 2019, using Acropora tenuis larvae spawned in the National Sea Simulator from broodstock collected from Backnumbers reef (central mid-shelf Great Barrier Reef). Coral recruits were settled and grown in the Sea Simulator for around 90 days before being deployed back to 3 replicate sites (and 4 replicate transects per site) on Backnumbers reef. Upon deployment the benthic community composition around each device was assessed via photoquadrats, analysed in CoralPointCount with excel extensions (CPCe).
