Core SO136-111 provides a record for winter sea-ice concentrations over the last 220 kyr BP.\nGravity core SO136-111 (56\u00b040'S, 160\u00b014'E, water depth 3912 m) was retrieved from the Emerald Basin, in the East Indian sector of the Southern Ocean south of the modern Antarctic Polar Front.
