The\nBasin has a surface area of approximately 37 square kilometres discharging through the\nSussex Inlet Channel to the Pacific Ocean at Bherwerre Beach. The total catchment area to\nthe Pacific Ocean is approximately 327 square kilometres. The Basin itself therefore\nrepresents approximately 11% of the total catchment.\nThis Floodplain Risk Management Plan covers the study area shown in Figure 1 including the\nSussex Inlet Channel, the foreshore fringe area around St Georges Basin, and the lower\nreaches of the major tributary creeks (listed in Table 1). The study area is bound approximately\nby Sussex Inlet Road, the Princes Highway, The Wool Road, Jervis Bay Road and Naval\nCollege Road.
