This Treaty entered into force on 15 February 1985. \n\nThe map also depicts a protected zone established under the Treaty to acknowledge and protect the traditional way of life and livelihood of the traditional inhabitants including their traditional fishing and free movement, as well as, to protect and preserve the marine environment and indigenous fauna and flora. \n\nThe depiction of the Territorial Sea Baseline (TSB) and the outer limits of Australia`s maritime zones shown on the map are sourced from the Australian Marine Spatial Information System (AMSIS) maintained by Geoscience Australia.
