The metadata was not provided by the data supplier and has been compiled by the programme based on known details.\n\n\n\nThis is the source data set of the shapefiles of the baseline and CRDP mines received from the Office of Groundwater Impact Assessment (OGIA).\n\n\n\nThe shape files were required to identify the MODFLOW model cells that are within the bounds of the coal mine shape files. After identifying these model cells a head boundary condition was defined for these cells by means of a drain package. Drain package simulates the groundwater extraction from the coal mines to keep the water level below the pit bottom.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nThe data set is used to prepare a modified drain package for the OGIA groundwater model for Bioregional Assessments specific model runs.\n\nThe shape files were required to identify the MODFLOW model cells that are within the bounds of the coal mine shape files. After identifying these model cells a head boundary condition was defined for these cells by means of a drain package. Drain package simulates the groundwater extraction from the coal mines to keep the water level below the pit bottom.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThis is a source data set received from Office of Groundwater Impact Assessment Queensland Government. Groundwater modelling in the MBC subregion required groundwater extraction from the coal mines to be simulated as a boundary condition. The mine foot prints were sourced as shape files from OGIA and is registered as this data set. Foot prints corresponding to 5 baseline mines and 2 CRDP mines are present in this dataset.
