Permian rocks outcrop about 70 miles to the north of Roma. Considerable flows of natural gas, and small quantities of oil, have been found since 1900 in many of the bores which have been drilled in the Roma area; but no major commercial supplies have been developed. The sediments are mostly obscured by soil. Experience also suggests that pitting and shallow core drilling have limited value. It is therefore difficult, using normal geological methods, to determine geological structures in the region and to work out, except in the broadest way, the geological structure in the areas tested by drilling. In the present survey, gravity and magnetic methods were applied in an attempt to gain some indications of basement topography, which might be related to possible oil-bearing structures. It was found that the major geophysical anomalies are not related to known basement topography, but are probably due to variations of rock-types within the basement or other causes. However, it was possible to isolate some- gravity anomalies which might be related to high basement features. These anomalies are being tested by seismic methods to locate possible drilling targets.", "num_resources": 2, "num_tags": 7, "organization": {"id": "91f054ec-d0c3-4d42-a89a-5daa2c7a6818", "name": "geoscience-australia-data", "title": "Geoscience Australia Data", "type": "organization", "description": "Harvester for Geoscience Australia Data", "image_url": "", "created": "2025-06-23T12:29:08.024111", "is_organization": true, "approval_status": "approved", "state": "active"}, "original_harvest_source": {"site_url": "https://ecat.ga.gov.au", "href": "https://ecat.ga.gov.au/geonetwork/srv/eng/csw/dataset/gravity-and-magnetic-reconnaissance-roma-district-queensland", "title": "Geoscience Australia"}, "owner_org": "91f054ec-d0c3-4d42-a89a-5daa2c7a6818", "private": false, "promotion_level": "0", "spatial": "{\"type\": \"Polygon\", \"coordinates\": [[[148.5, -27.0], [150.0, -27.0], [150.0, -26.0], [148.5, -26.0], [148.5, -27.0]]]}", "spatial_coverage": "{\"type\": \"Polygon\", \"coordinates\": [[[148.5, -27.0], [150.0, -27.0], [150.0, -26.0], [148.5, -26.0], [148.5, -27.0]]]}", "state": "active", "temporal_coverage_from": "2018-04-20 06:09:30", "title": "Gravity and magnetic reconnaissance, Roma district, Queensland", "type": "dataset", "unpublished": false, "url": null, "version": null, "extras": [{"key": "harvest_object_id", "value": "8243041b-49a3-43b6-9e43-caa11bc70ac7"}, {"key": "harvest_source_id", "value": "00080910-39e7-408f-882c-e6e1eb6baadb"}, {"key": "harvest_source_title", "value": "Geoscience Australia"}], "resources": [{"cache_last_updated": null, "cache_url": null, "created": "2025-10-16T20:28:59.752957", "datastore_active": false, "datastore_contains_all_records_of_source_file": false, "description": "Download the Bulletin (pdf)", "format": "PDF", "hash": "", "id": "3a11a112-4b60-4287-9061-65ec958cf474", "last_modified": null, "metadata_modified": "2025-10-16T20:28:59.743183", "mimetype": null, "mimetype_inner": null, "name": "Download the Bulletin (pdf)", "package_id": "96130a42-7564-4132-b10e-88b0d938a788", "position": 0, "resource_locator_function": "information", "resource_locator_protocol": "WWW:LINK-1.0-http--link", "resource_type": null, "size": null, "state": "active", "url": "https://d28rz98at9flks.cloudfront.net/211/Bull_018.pdf", "url_type": null, "zip_extract": false}, {"cache_last_updated": null, "cache_url": null, "created": "2025-10-16T20:28:59.752961", "datastore_active": false, "datastore_contains_all_records_of_source_file": false, "description": "", "format": "HTML", "hash": "", "id": "95976975-66ab-472f-b896-18e020373066", "last_modified": null, "metadata_modified": "2025-10-16T20:28:59.743310", "mimetype": null, "mimetype_inner": null, "name": "Unnamed resource", "package_id": "96130a42-7564-4132-b10e-88b0d938a788", "position": 1, "resource_locator_function": "", "resource_locator_protocol": "", "resource_type": null, "size": null, "state": "active", "url": "http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/Latestproducts/1297.0Main%20Features32008?opendocument&tabname=Summary&prodno=1297.0&issue=2008&num=&view=", "url_type": null, "zip_extract": false}], "tags": [{"display_name": "AU-QLD", "id": "0275cb63-7fa7-43d7-ac32-7c454ab33257", "name": "AU-QLD", "state": "active", "vocabulary_id": null}, {"display_name": "Bulletin", "id": "160fbfad-8e89-494d-9190-4705dac2c5e7", "name": "Bulletin", "state": "active", "vocabulary_id": null}, {"display_name": "Earth Sciences", "id": "40d58e59-cdeb-4021-9e5a-aae60edebdf5", "name": "Earth Sciences", "state": "active", "vocabulary_id": null}, {"display_name": "GA Publication", "id": "e62fc1f2-3d55-4d1e-bd88-116cd26bc3fd", "name": "GA Publication", "state": "active", "vocabulary_id": null}, {"display_name": "Published_External", "id": "5178775c-8044-4b7f-881f-5428a4e2d925", "name": "Published_External", "state": "active", "vocabulary_id": null}, {"display_name": "gravity", "id": "e9060d00-68bb-4925-aebf-d7372b7424f9", "name": "gravity", "state": "active", "vocabulary_id": null}, {"display_name": "magnetics", "id": "ba7e7a84-14f0-4b73-9cc9-ba8a6f9616e4", "name": "magnetics", "state": "active", "vocabulary_id": null}], "groups": [], "relationships_as_subject": [], "relationships_as_object": []}}
