The tool includes\ninformation and scoring for cultivation requirements, conservation benefits and\nhorticultural potential which are the foundation of the assessment. Additional\nbenefits specific to the City of Melbourne and potential weed threat were also\nconsidered as part of the assessment process. Higher priority was given to\nspecies which are the most threatened and are indigenous to the City of\nMelbourne.\u00a0\nFrom\nthis assessment process, a priority list of 56 species has been short-listed as\nappropriate threatened species for planting.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\nFor\ninclusion in the Threatened Species Assessment Tool, all species were required\nto be listed as threatened in Victoria.\u00a0\nScores\nwere calculated based on the following:\n\n Cultivation\n     Requirements Subtotal = Cultivation Protocols + Propagation Protocols\n Conservation\n     Subtotal = Germplasm Source + Conservation Status + Germplasm Origin +\n     Provenance + Additional Conservation Benefit\n Total\n     Score = Cultivation Requirements Subtotal + Conservation Subtotal +\n     Additional Local Benefits Subtotal\n Total\n     Score including Horticultural Potential = Cultivation Requirements\n     Subtotal + Conservation Subtotal + Additional Local Benefits Subtotal +\n     Horticultural Potential\u00a0\nThresholds\nwere set in certain categories which resulted in the removal of species from\npriority selection. Species with cells marked with an asterisk (*) were removed\nfrom the final priority plant list.
