Webb, McKeown & Associates were engaged by Wellington Council to prepare\nthis Flood Study to provide the technical foundation for the determination of flood planning levels\nwithin the township of Geurie (refer to Figure 1). The primary objectives of the study are:\n
\n
to define the flood behaviour for the Boori, Geurie, Heatherbrae and Limestone Creek\ncatchments within the Village and Rural 1(c) areas,
\n
to establish numerical hydrologic and hydraulic models to determine flood flows, velocities\nand levels for various design events,
\n
to formulate the models such that the effects on flood behaviour due to catchment\ndevelopment and possible flood mitigation measures can be investigated in the future.
\n
\n\nThis report details the methodology used and the results of the design flood analysis. It includes:\n
\n
a summary of available data,
\n
reasons supporting the choice of hydrologic and hydraulic models,
\n
establishment of these models,
\n
definition of design flood behaviour in accordance with the NSW Floodplain Development\nManual (2005).
\n
\n\nAll levels provided in this report are in metres (m) to Australian Height Datum (AHD) which is the\nstandard national survey reference plane approximating mean sea level. A glossary of flood related\nterms is provided in Appendix A.\n\nResults for Geurie Creek, Boori Creek, Limestone and Heatherbrae Creeks, Overland Flooding and Rural Small Holdings north of the village, are discussed", "num_resources": 1, "num_tags": 3, "organization": {"id": "ceaff492-8ec6-4e35-a5f3-4cbc3b8cbe84", "name": "dubbo-regional-council-datansw", "title": "Dubbo Regional Council", "type": "organization", "description": "The Dubbo Regional Council area is now home to more than 51,000 people spread across the City of Dubbo, the main centre of Wellington and a broad rural sector stretching across 7,500m2. \r\n\r\nhttps://www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au/\r\n\r\nThe Dubbo local government area is located within the Macquarie - Bogan catchment, part of the Murray Darling Basin, covering 74,800 square kilometres and regulated by two major storages \u2013 Burrendong and Windamere dams.
