This initiative is funded by FRDC and has been underway for the past 4 years during which time a framework to complete an assessment of how well an individual fishery is meeting ESD objectives has been developed. These assessments cover not only the target species, but also include assessments of the impacts on bycatch and the broader ecosystem.
