WA Student Achievement Data

These statistics are the basis for publication by The West Australian and The Sunday Times. While the media take the view that these statistics display the comparative merits of each school, it should be noted that researchers into school effectiveness agree that schools account for only about nine per cent of the variance between students. Students' personal backgrounds account for most of the variance in academic performance.
