Most of the portraits (chiefly head and shoulders) are of soldiers who enlisted in 1918. The Trustees of the Mitchell Library undertook to collect these portraits in May 1918. Relatives of soldiers were asked to forward photographs to the Crown Studios, Sydney for copying.

The fields you need to look at are “thumbnaillink” and “highreslink”. The have unique links directly to individual image files.
