- Description
-
Provides estimates of the apparent consumption of alcohol based on the availability of alcoholic beverages in Australia. It contains data on the quantity of pure alcohol available for consumption from beer, wine, spirits and ready to drink (pre-mixed) beverages, plus estimates of the total volume of beer and wine available for consumption.
This apparent consumption measure estimates the amount of alcohol available (based on excise, import and sales data), but does not estimate the actual amount consumed as it does not account for factors such as waste or storage.
The apparent consumption data in this publication are based on the 15 years and over population figures.
