Age vs. Depth of core BAR 9403 (located off the coast of Sumatra). Age has been calculated through modelling based on oxygen isotope records

The age with depth of core BAR9403 is calculated through 18O values, which are then correlated with the SPECMAP age-model. Based upon these measurements the age at the deepest part of the core (275cm) was calculated to be ~33,200yrs BP. The age vs. depth profile indicates a reasonably constant sedimentation rate, with an average deposition rate of ~8cm/1000yrs.
